New York Farm Show
The 24th annual New
York Farm Show is the spring planning event of the Northeast. It
has grown every year, and the 2009 show promises to be bigger
and better than ever! The Event is being held at the NYS
Fairgrounds on Thursday through Saturday, February 26-28th,
2009.
Visual Technologies takes part every year
by helping the many exhibitors at the New York Farm show by
providing equipment for their various audio/visual needs. This
event will feature exhibitors ranging from Agricultural
programs, construction, financial services, and farming
equipment.
There will be a number of new commercial exhibits and even more
programs aimed at helping you build Northeast agriculture's
future. In addition there will be there will be new dairy
technologies introduced. At least one new company will be
bringing farm-scale wind energy generators. And Oxbo is wheeling
in a new hay merger. And we're expecting a record number of new
products – to be featured soon on this Web site.
To boost the value of your New York Farm
Show trip, we've expanded our list of mini-seminars in the Arts
and Home Center. Here's a peek at what'll be offered:
Two "Farming for the Future" sessions:
Early Friday morning, Feb. 27, we'll host an intensive hour-long
session about "Gas leasing and its financial consequences".
Early Saturday morning, Feb. 28, we'll kick off a multi-part
program on "Where alternative energy fits your farm". It'll
cover wind turbines, solar applications, biomass furnaces and
energy auditing.
Daily woodlot and forest management sessions:
Ten different landowner topics will deal with stand management,
timber values, insect threats, wildlife management and forest
biomass.
Daily beef programs:
Topics to be covered include rotational grazing, proper
castration techniques, live vs. killed vaccines, selecting most
profitable animals and more. And yes, the popular hot beef
sundae will be back – first come, first served from 11 a.m.
until they're gone each day.
