How to Book a Video Conference

We can provide the tools that will make your next conference a success
To reserve Visual Technologies' video conference facilities, please provide the following information:

- The day, date, start and end time that you would like to reserve.
- Let us know the company or location with which you would like to connect, providing a contact
name and telephone number. Visual technologies will confirm your conference with the
other site and arrange a pre-conference test.
- Reservation Form.

Visual Technologies will help you locate far-end video conference sites
We are affiliated with a number of public access video conference room brokers, over 3000 locations worldwide. We can find a far-end room location for you, usually in the city of your choice, and probably less than 30-60 minutes drive in more remote locations. A search fee is commonly charged.

VTC can reserve bridging services for multi-point video conferences
Many video conferences are point-to-point, two-site conferences. But for those conferences of three or more sites, bridging facilities are required. A bridge is like a hub that allows multiple sites to see and hear each other, usually the site that is speaking at any one moment; but they can be set up for viewing in continuous presence, like "Hollywood Squares", where all sites (up to five connected) can see each other at the same time. Bridge services commonly charge $50-60 for hour per site.

Supplementary accessories available for your professional presentation
VCR Recording/Playback, Document Camera, computer scan converter, slide to video converter, auxiliary cameras, phone add-on capacity, and a full compliment of audio visual accessories.

Video conference at your place of business or a public meeting facility
ISDN telephone service is all that's required to video conference "on the road". Visual Technologies can set up portable video conference and display equipment for you on-site at your location or at one of several meeting facilities in the region (OnCenter, Turning Stone Casino, Craftsman Inn, Sheraton University, The Marx Hotel and
Holiday Inn Liverpool Hotel). Whether as a matter of convenience or for sizable conference group meetings, on-site service may be your solution. ISDN lines must be configured for video conference use, and installation of new ISDN service may take 3-4 weeks.

What is ISDN?
When you pick up your telephone, you hear a dial tone…you are connected to a network of switched, "plain old telephone service", an analogue telephone network. When you dial a number, the call goes through a switch, which sends it on to the telephone at the number you dialed.

ISDN stands for Integrated Services Digital Network, and is also a switched network, but of digital service instead of analogue service. The network carries digital (digitized) information, hence its use by many companies to transmit computer generated data, as well as high quality digital audio and video. Depending on the information carried, the lines are configured in a particular way, important to know because lines used to carry data would probably need to be reconfigured for video conferencing use.

For on-site video conferences, ISDN lines must have a "S Package" configuration. To set up our equipment we would need the following information, available from your telephone service/bandwidth provider: SPID numbers and switch type - they should have this information on file.
